A Wall Flower Welcome!

British Flowers Week flag

Hello, hello! Welcome to our new Wall Flowers Seasonal Blooms website and welcome to my first blog post and what better week to be celebrating locally grown flowers than during British Flowers Week? It’s fabulous to have my own space to hang out with fellow floral fanciers!

What can you expect from my blog?

I’d like it to be a place where I share some of what we are up to in the field or behind the scenes, particularly in the greenhouses. I’d love to share successes with you but equally I like to share my failures (there are a good number!) and importantly what I learnt from the experience, what I might do differently in the future. You never know it may assist you in your endeavours to grow flowers.

I think if it is OK with you, I’d also like to share some information about why British flowers? And about why I choose not to use floral foam. New information about the carbon footprint of British flowers suggests that our flowers have approximately 5% of the carbon footprint of imported blooms. Fabulous statistics to celebrate during this special week.

A beautiful website. We can’t wait to come visit for our flower-filled afternoon tea in July.
